Bergen
Wikborg Rein was established in Bergen in 1978 when taking over Knut Magnus' law firm who had its main area of practice with issues relating to maritime law. Magnus was secretary in Bergen Shipowners' Association from 1945, a commission taken over by present partner Ĝystein Meland in 1985.
In connection to the establishment, Haakon Blaauw was transferred from the Oslo office to take part in the structuring of the new office. Blaauw was soon after admitted as partner in the firm, and lead the development of the office in Bergen.
The expansion of the office in Bergen has continued; today the office is Bergen's largest law firm.
