Wikborg Rein’s business association in Singapore dates back to 1996. Due to increasing business relating to the Singapore area Wikborg Rein decided to establish an office in 2000. Our Singapore office is following the expansion of our clients’ business into the rest of Asia. Our principal practice areas in Singapore are shipping, ship finance and legal services to the offshore industry. With practical experience and a good network in many of the countries in the region, Wikborg Rein advise on the structuring and planning of investments including advice on local investment restrictions and possibilities, cross border tax planning and in particular the application of relevant Norwegian tax treaties. Our lawyers are active members and contributors to the local business association, and have frequent contact with the local authorities. Our Singapore office is manned with four experienced partners and four associates, also giving advice on English law.

Pan Asia Law Corporation (“PALC”) is a Singapore law practice that was established in October 2007. On 1 May 2008, with the approval of the Attorney-General under Singapore’s Legal Profession Act, PALC entered into a formal law alliance (“FLA”) with the Singapore branch of the international law firm Wikborg, Rein & Co. (“WR”). Thus the alliance will be able to assist Wikborg Rein’s clients in cross-border transactions involving both Norwegian and/or English law and Singapore law - a genuine “one-stop shop”.
