Shipping Offshore seminar: Has the world changed?

Wikborg Rein's Shipping Offshore-group invites clients and contacts to the seminar "Has the world changed?". The seminar will be held in Bergen on the 2 September and in Oslo on the 3 September 2010.

The Deepwater Horizon casualty that occurred on 22 April 2010 caught the shipping and offshore community like a tsunami. In the aftermath, questions have been raised as to what impact it may have on the offshore industry and the marine industry that supports it.

Will there be a need to re-evaluate the risks within offshore contracts; will greater regulation mean that there needs to be more effective management of risks in offshore projects; what would happen if a similar incident occurred in the North Sea; who would be liable for pollution damage; would it be possible to limit liability; would the liability be covered by insurance; and would it be possible to commence recourse actions toward contracting parties? The aim of this seminar is provide an understanding of these and other related questions.
