Steffen Pedersen

Steffen Pedersen is a Senior Associate at Wikborg Rein’s Singapore office and is part of the firm’s Shipping Offshore group and the Asia-based English law team.

Pedersen's main area of experience is maritime litigation with a particular focus on dry shipping - including cargo claims, charterparty and sale & purchase disputes. Pedersen is a native Dane who grew up in London and Hong Kong. Before joining Wikborg Rein he gained almost 6 years experience with Ince & Co in Hong Kong (where he trained) and Shanghai. He is qualified as a lawyer in both Hong Kong and England & Wales. Whilst based in Shanghai he has been involved in major shipbuilding disputes arising out of the global financial crisis and handled numerous shipbuilding arbitrations in both London and Singapore.

On the non-contentious side Pedersen has advised on taxation arising out of operations in Hong Kong and assisted numerous clients with establishing corporations and registering vessels and mortgages in various jurisdictions. In addition, he has advised governments in relation to contracts in China.
