Florence Ong
Florence Ong is a Resident Partner at Wikborg Rein’s Singapore office and is part of the firm's Shipping Offshore group.
Ong is Singapore and English qualified and is advising and assisting various international clients on corporate and commercial transactions in the shipping and offshore sector. She has considerable experience of assisting clients with foreign direct investment into Singapore, and of working on corporate restructurings, strategic acquisitions and joint ventures in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong and China. She also has experience assisting clients with various tax incentive schemes together with local tax advisers for shipping enterprises such as the Maritime Sector Incentive - Approved International Shipping Enterprise Award, the Maritime Sector Incentive - supporting Shipping Services Awards. Block Transfer Scheme and Singapore Flag Scheme, as well as ship sale and purchase transactions.
Ong joined Wikborg Rein as a member of the firm’s pioneer English law team. Prior to that, she worked in the Singapore, London and Beijing offices of a London-based international law firm. Before that, she practised with the corporate departments of two well-established Singapore law firms.
She speaks English and Mandarin.
