Jarle Erik Sandvik

Jarle Erik Sandvik is partner based in the firm's Oslo office. He is head of the firm's Energy Natural Resources Group. Sandvik has worked in the oil, gas and energy sector, including renewable, as well as in the insurance sector in advisory as well as executive capacities and provides his clients with advice on legal as well as strategic issues pertinent to major agreements, transactions and restructurings. Sandvik's clients include European oil and gas companies as well as energy companies. Sandvik is regularly involved in oil and gas work in Norway including mergers and acquisitions and has acted in big international petroleum arbitrations. Sandvik has advised the Norwegian Attorney General on oil insurance matters. Sandvik was an adviser to the international investment banks in the privatization of the then Statoil ASA and the restructuring of the Norwegian state's petroleum interests in 2001 and has subsequently worked on the listing of the state owned fish feed and fish farming group Cermaq ASA in 2005. Sandvik is now advising the Cambodian government on the development of a new petroleum law regime.

In recent years, Sandvik has taken a particular interest in corporate governance and compliance issues and has advised companies inside and outside of the energy and natural resources sector on governance issues.

Sandvik is recognized as a prominent Norwegian oil, gas and energy lawyer in Chambers, Legal 500 and the Guide to the World's Leading Energy and Natural Resources Lawyers.
