Mona Francesca Katigbak

Mona Francesca Katigbak works as an associate with the Energy and Natural Resources Group in the Oslo office of Wikborg Rein. Before joining Wikborg Rein, Ms. Katigbak worked with the Banking, Finance and Securities group of SyCip Salazar, the largest law firm in the Philippines. She also clerked with the Philippine Supreme Court, specializing in international trade and foreign investment in the Philippines.

Ms. Katigbak has an LL.M. from Harvard Law School. She has passed the bar in both the Philippines and New York.

Relevant experience:

INFRASTRUCTURE SECTOR

Served as Philippine counsel to a consortium of major multilateral credit and export agencies and international commercial banks for the US$250 Million financing of the North Luzon Expressway, an 84-kilometer highway that connects the National Capital Region of the Philippines with Central and Northern Luzon.


TELECOMMUNICATIONS SECTOR

Served as Philippine counsel representing a Japanese telecommunications company in International Chamber of Commerce arbitration proceedings concerning a US$236 Million claim.


BIOFUELS SECTOR

Served as international counsel during the acquisition by Biofuels Energy AS of project to develop, construct, finance, own and operate a fully-integrated ethanol/sugar mill project with cane crushing capacity of 2,400,000 tonnes per annum and a 40,000 hectare cane plantation, located in the municipality of Narandiba, São Paulo, Brazil.
