Wikborg Rein is a total supplier of legal services within contract law and construction. We assist all parties within the field, including developers, contractors, authorities and consultants.

Our field of activity covers all the various phases of building and development projects, ranging from the tender phase through to dispute resolutions following completed projects.

We have broad experience in organising and completing both private and public tendering processes. By performing quality assurance of the tender documents and ensuring that current regulations for the implementation of competitive tendering is adhered to, liability for breach of contract as the commissioning party and related disputes can be avoided.

We regularly assist with contract formulation and negotiations, as well as contract management throughout the contract process. In our experience, many disputes can be avoided if the parties agree on precise and clearly defined contractual obligations that ensure the maintaine of balance in the contractual relationship. Developments in contract practice call for increasingly stricter approaches by the parties in the management of a contractual relationship to comply with the regime for formal contract management.

The fundamental contrasts of interests between the parties still makes it impossible to completely avoid disputes during or after the completion phase of the project execution. We currently have assignments for both contractors and builders in connection with final settlement disputes and disagreements as a consequence of defects that are identified within the warranty period.
