We have assisted Enova in notification of state aid to Hydro
The aid is granted for the construction of a demonstration plant at Karmøy for the verification of Hydro's new smelting cell technology, developed to lead to an important reduction in both the electricity consumption and greenhouse gas emissions of aluminium smelters. Wikborg Rein has assisted Enova with the notification of the state aid to the ESA. This is not only Enova's biggest grant ever and a milestone project for Hydro aiming at reducing their electricity consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, but also the biggest individual state aid grant before ESA last year. Wikborg Rein's team has consisted of Senior Associate Kine Neslein and Partner Jonn Ola Sørensen.
A non-confidential version of the decision will be published in the register of state aid decisions on ESA's website, normally within a month. ESA's press release: http://www.eftasurv.int/press--publications/press-releases/state-aid/nr/2408
