With a Master of Laws from the University of Oslo and an LLM from King's College in London, Wikborg Rein was a natural starting point in the career of Bjørn Olav Isaksen. He started working as a trainee towards the end of his studies and wrote his Master thesis at the firm's offices.
- It was the firm's international presence that appealed to me in particular and Wikborg Rein was the only Norwegian law firm with offices abroad.
Today he works as a Senior Associate with the Capital Markets team. His primary working language is English.
- I work with stock exchange and securities law, which involves assistance with share and bond issues, stock exchange listings and mergers & acquisitions involving listed companies. In addition, we assist listed issuers and others with ongoing compliance with for example rules on inside information. These constitute exciting fields of law that you learn very little about during your law studies. You also get well acquainted with Norwegian businesses.
Bjørn Olav is especially happy about Wikborg Rein's consistent "open-door" policy:
- Experienced colleagues are always available to discuss complex legal issues and take time out of their busy schedule to explain why we do things, and not only how. I think this is really important from a learning perspective.
