Wikborg Rein is proud to partner and fully support the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development in the project: The One Ocean Expedition.

The purpose and importance of the One Ocean Expedition (OOE) is to share knowledge and to reinforce and create attention regarding the crucial role of the ocean for a sustainable development in a global perspective.

About the expedition

The expedition will be carried out with the 116 year old school and science ship the Statsraad Lehmkul. Its voyage will begin from Arendal in Norway during Arendalsuka in August 2021 and will circumnavigate for 19 months via 36 harbours, including Singapore and Shanghai, arriving in Bergen in May 2023.

With the aid of advanced equipment and technology, students and scientists will conduct research and monitor the ocean throughout the 55,000 mile nautical voyage. The ship will serve as both a sail training ship and a state-of-the-art research vessel and whilst in port, it will also serve as a meeting point for conferences, high-level meetings and corporate hospitality.

Making a change

As OOE Partner Wikborg Rein will, together with other acknowledged companies, organisations and the goodwill ambassador, Prime Minister Erna Solberg, become an important contributor to research and knowledge sharing about the many aspects of the ocean's important role in a sustainable development.
