Universum 2020: The industry's most attractive employer
For the 7th year in a row, Wikborg Rein has been named as the law students' most attractive employer among the corporate law firms. From last year, we also climbed from 3rd to 2nd place among all companies in the survey.
Universum's student survey is conducted every year, and this time around 13,000 students have been interviewed. Wikborg Rein has topped the survey among law firms in the last 7 years, but this time we take a historic step up to a 2nd place among all employers on the list.
– We are dependent on attracting the best talents, and therefore it is very satisfactory that the students consider us an attractive employer, says recruitment partner Ole Henrik Wille. - We are humble and happy for the 2nd place overall and the first place among the law firms and thank all the students who have voted for us, he continues.
Dialogue and meeting places are important
Wikborg Rein has an extensive collaboration with the universities in Oslo, Bergen and Tromsø and conducts a number of manuductions and lectures during the year. The company is otherwise present at the Working Life Days and other student events and also holds several student seminars itself. - This helps to maintain a close and good relationship with the students during the year and ensures that we stay relevant in our student activities, says HR manager Christian Winsnes.
The company offers a number of trainee programs with a focus on professional development and has in the last two years launched two new trainee programs together with other business partners - International internship and Digital trainee. In this way, students gain insight and experience both from the corporate law industry and from the business world. - We believe it is of great value for further career development that you have knowledge of operational issues that the companies face and that this gives a better practical understanding of the business world, which in the long run will make students better lawyers, says Ole Henrik.
Complex cases and clients
In Universum's survey, among other things, high professional competence, a good social environment and complex and international cases are highlighted as reasons why students want to work at Wikborg Rein. - This type of feedback is important to us. This shows that we are perceived in the same way externally as internally and that trainees and students who meet us experience the company culture as positive and inclusive, says Ole Henrik. In recent weeks, the company has offered students digital tutorials and is working in a structured and targeted way to renew itself. - Such an award gives us motivation and drive to further develop our offer and collaboration with the students, Christian concludes.
