Wikborg Rein on global top 100 list within international arbitration
Our expertise within dispute resolution – both domestic and international – has been recognized with several prestigious achievements lately.
As the only Norwegian law firm, and for the fifth year in a row, Wikborg Rein has been distinguished as one of the world's top law firms within international arbitration by the highly recognised Global Arbitration Review (GAR), being included on its list GAR 100 12th edition.
- To be included on this list of highly qualified international law firms is a great achievement. Making the cut five years in a row demonstrates Wikborg Rein's international standing, and unique position within international arbitration among Norwegian law firms, says Aadne Haga, Head of Wikborg Rein's Petroleum and Energy Group, and leader of the Gas Dispute Team.
International Arbitration is a field of law in which particular "know how" is key. To assist clients in choosing law firms with actual comprehensive experience from international arbitration, GAR each year publishes a list of firms "approved" for International Arbitration. The "approval" is based on a consideration of the firms' caseload and overall amount of hours worked within International Arbitration.
Other recognitions of our dispute resolution expertise include a band 1 ranking in Chambers and a tier 1 ranking in Legal 500. The expertise of Ola Ø. Nisja, Kaare Andreas Shetelig and Ola Haugen was also highlighted in this year's lawyers survey by Finansavisen, a Norwegian financial daily, where they were all ranked top 10 in this category.
- Our dispute resolution practice has always been strong, and we are very proud of both the domestic and international recognition the firm continues to achieve. The key to our success is as always the people and their skills, and I believe that we in the dispute resolution team over the years have been able to take advantage of, and combine the fighting spirit and energy of young talents with the years of experience that many of our more senior lawyers are representing, says Finn Bjørnstad, Managing Partner of Wikborg Rein.
