About Baptiste Weijburg

Baptiste specialises in shipping and trade, focusing mainly on international dispute resolution arising from charterparties, bills of lading, shipbuilding contracts, memorandums of agreement for the sale and purchase of ships, ship management agreements, commodity and supply contracts, contracts of affreightment, casualties and marine insurance. 

He assists and represents a wide range of clients in litigation, arbitration and mediation and also has particular expertise in security and enforcement actions.

Baptiste has gained practical experience through a secondment at an International Group P&I Club and has handled a wide range of P&I and Defence claims. He also spent time working in the industry.

Baptiste speaks fluent French and conversational Dutch.

  • Acting for a gas & trading group in various disputes, and potential disputes, arising out of long terms time charterparties for several LNG carriers.

  • Acting for yacht owners and insurers in various disputes arising out of breakdowns, damage, total loss and refits / refurbishments.

  • Advising and acting for shipyards in relation to shipbuilding contract disputes.

  • Arresting vessels and attaching assets to secure or enforce claims in multiple jurisdictions.
