About Øystein R. Stikbakke

Øystein primarily works with international arbitration in the energy sector and is part of the firm's Petroleum and Energy practice. In addition, Øystein works extensively with international sanctions and is also part of the firm's international sanctions and export control practice.

Øystein has experience from several institutional arbitrations (SCC and ICC) in the gas sector. He also assists with contractual advice on a number of fields, including with drafting and negotiating contracts. Within the field of sanctions, Øystein has a special focus on international sanctions in cases related to states of the former Soviet Union. He also has experience with international audits.

Øystein graduated with a law degree from the University of Oslo in the spring of 2021. He specialised in Public International Law, and wrote his master's thesis on the legal regime of the maritime zones around Svalbard.

In addition to Norwegian (native) and English (fluent), Øystein also speaks Russian (proficient) and has previously worked as a trainee for the Norwegian Embassy in Moscow
