lan Teare is the Managing Partner at Wikborg Rein’s Singapore office and is part of the firm’s Shipping Offshore practice and Maritime and Offshore Emergency Response Team. He has a broad marine and offshore practice including collision and salvage, charterparty, bill of lading disputes and marine insurance matters. Teare has a degree in Nautical Studies from Plymouth University where he specialized in Naval Architecture. After a period training as a navigator with the Royal Air Force, he joined the admiralty team of a London based shipping law firm in early 1992 and specialised in the investigation of marine casualties, particularly collision and salvage matters. Teare is OPITO certified for travel offshore by helicopter and launch. Having qualified as a Solicitor in 2000, he spent five years (2000-2005) in Piraeus where he acted for a variety of ship owners, P&I Clubs and Underwriters in a broad spectrum of shipping disputes. Teare worked in the London market between 2005 and 2012 when he moved to Singapore.
