Headquartered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Spares in Motion supports wind turbine owners and operators worldwide in maintaining and extending the lifespan of their assets. The company sources and supplies high-quality wind turbine spare parts and critical components, helping customers reduce downtime, improve turbine performance and support more circular and cost-efficient wind energy operations.

Spares in Motion's solutions cover new, used, repaired and refurbished parts, as well as full wind turbines. The company enables owners and operators to extend turbine life and make smarter use of scarce materials. Independent analysis indicates that refurbishment of key components can reuse a large share of materials and reduce up to 80% of CO₂ emissions versus manufacturing new parts – reinforcing the role of circular supply chains in decarbonising the wind sector.

HAVN Capital is a thematic private equity firm dedicated to driving decarbonisation by investing in lower mid-market companies that enable the energy transition. From its base in the Nordics, HAVN partners with specialist service, technology and software businesses across Northern and Western Europe, helping them scale proven solutions in renewable energy, electrification and energy efficiency.

The investment is aligned with HAVN's strategy of backing specialist companies that enable the energy transition by improving the reliability, efficiency and sustainability of critical infrastructure. Together with the founders and broader Spares in Motion team, HAVN will support investment in the company's technology, data and digital procurement tools, whilst accelerating refurbishment offerings and strengthening the company's international footprint, including its presence in North America and key European wind markets.

The transaction was completed with the support of Federated Hermes Private Equity as co-investor and Ambienta Credit as debt financing provider.

Wikborg Rein worked as lead counsel across all workstreams, and were assisted by Stek, PJCZ and Cuatrecasas as local counsels.
