In this year's Universum student survey, conducted from February to April 2026, 446 students participated in the Law category. The National Police Service came in at the top with 28.6 percent.
Three places up
Among all companies in the Law category, Wikborg Rein climbed to second place overall, up from fifth place last year, making it the highest-ranked law firm in a survey where 50 companies are ranked.
Managing Partner Geir Sviggum is very pleased with the results.
"Universum really makes me happy. Our working environment is the foundation of our organisation, the very basis for creating a lasting winning culture. The working environment is not what leaders speak of in public, it is what our more than 400 fantastic people experience every day, and which they communicate to friends, family, colleagues in other firms and students in their network. So, for us, Universum has, for 13 consecutive years, been an honest feedback to the culture and the working environment we have created together.
What tomorrow's law students are looking for
In the survey, students were asked which factor they consider most important in a future employer. Students ranked "Respect for its people" as the most important factor, followed by "Learning and development" and "Career Growth Opportunities".
"These are factors we work purposefully towards every day, and it is very gratifying to see that it gets noticed. We receive positive feedback from students who come through us via the trainee programme and other events, so we greatly appreciate that they once again point to Wikborg Rein", says Lise Løtveit, Head of our Trainee Committee.
The survey also asked whether students had actively developed AI-related skills for their careers. Seventy-one percent answered yes, up from 65 percent the previous year. The ranking of Norway's most attractive employers was announced at the Universum Awards, part of the Empowrd Conference, on Thursday 28 May at Tårnet kulturarena in Oslo.
A heartfelt thank you to the law students for the trust you have once again placed in us!
