Mathias specialises in technology and digitalisation. He is a leading expert in Norway on legal aspects of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and obtained his PhD in this topic in 2024. With unique expertise in technology law, Mathias assists in projects relating to the development, commercialisation, procurement and use of IT, AI and software. In particular, he assists in drafting and negotiating contracts, assessing strategic and regulatory issues and safeguarding intellectual property rights. Mathias also assists businesses in the media and entertainment industry. Mathias's PhD thesis concerns AI as decision support in the health sector. He has also contributed to a number of interdisciplinary research articles in the field. Furthermore, he has particular experience with the regulatory framework for medical devices, use of health data, health research and clinical trials.
