Oddbjørn is an integral part of our Shipping Offshore department, providing specialized services in maritime law and marine insurance. His expertise spans across various facets of the field, including litigation, casualty work, and shipping/offshore transactions. With a strong track record in newbuilding and conversion projects; sale, purchase and chartering work; and financing of ships, rigs, and similar assets, Oddbjørn is a seasoned lawyer in the industry. He recently acted as lead partner in a substantial Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project, where the cross-border transportation of CO2 element raised legal issues within a broad range of areas. His vast litigation experience led to his admittance to the Norwegian Supreme Court in 2017. Additionally, Oddbjørn has accrued extensive international exposure, having worked as a maritime lawyer in Japan for several years. This international experience also extends to his involvement in large projects across East Asia, North Africa and Brazil.
