Shane delivers business development and marketing support to the firm's London office and global shipping offshore team. His role is multi-faceted, providing support in relation to key client, referrer, and partner relationship management, business development planning and delivery, budget allocation and management, legal directories submissions, RFPs/pitches, PR, cross-border activities, events, and communications. Shane also manages and oversees the workload of trainees, paralegals, and PAs, who are tasked with supporting BD/marketing activities. Shane is an accomplished legal industry professional with over two decades of experience and a proven track record in business development and marketing. His expertise and technical proficiency have been honed over six years of working within this field, where he has demonstrated an unparalleled ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and a testament to his success is his ability to build trust and credibility with the fee earners he supports, from team leaders and partners to trainees and paralegals. His innate commercial awareness and work ethic have enabled him to thrive in his career as a business developer. Prior to joining Wikborg Rein, Shane was an International Business Development Coordinator at Howard Kennedy, where he supported the firm's multidisciplinary international groups engaged in the firm's two international legal networks, as well as those focused on specific regions such as the USA, Asia, and India. He also supported the firm's international desks and cross-border activities for its go-to-market groups. Originally from Auckland, New Zealand, Shane has been living in London for nearly ten years, and his experience and achievements during this time demonstrates his desire and ability to meet new challenges in his career.
