Tonje is a regulatory expert within the field of sustainability, climate change and environment, with a broad expertise from both public and private sectors. Before joining Wikborg Rein last year, Tonje was responsible for sustainability in the private company Heidelberg Materials Norway. She there headed initiatives related to ESG activities, including the assessment of the company's EU taxonomy alignment and other legal developments in the EU. Further, ESG reporting and disclosure obligations was part of her responsibility. She also contributed in the carbon capture project at the cement facility in Brevik, which is part of the Governmental CCS initiative Longship.   Tonje has extensive experience from the Ministry of Climate and Environment both as Head of Section and a specialist. She has a particular emphasis on public law framework conditions, government permits and bureaucratic and political processes. She has worked with a broad range of sustainability topics such as climate, pollution, renewable energy, waste and circular economy. In Wikborg Rein Tonje advises clients in sustainability, climate and environmental law, including reporting and disclosure obligations. Both compliance and companies' strategy work to get well positioned in the green transition is part of her expertise. Tonje has together with colleague Elise Johansen written the law commentary for the Norwegian Climate Act (Gyldendal Rettsdata, 2022).
