Gunnar specialises within intellectual property law, with a particular focus on patent, trademark and  trade secrets litigation. He has in-depth knowledge within life sciences, including pharmaceuticals, and related regulatory issues.

Gunnar has extensive litigation experience before all courts, including the Supreme Court. He has argued a substantial number of cases within patent and trademark law. He regularly represents businesses within the pharmaceutical industry, oil and gas, renewables, agriculture and branded consumer goods.

Gunnar is recognised by Chambers and Partners as 'Senior statesperson' in the category Intellectual Property, and by Legal 500 within 'Hall of Fame' in the category Intellectual Property.
