EU Council extends sanctions on human rights violations in Iran

This week, the Council of the EU extended its restrictive measures responding to serious human rights violations in Iran.

The measures, consisting of i) a travel ban and an asset freeze against 82 people and one entity, and ii) a ban on exports to Iran of equipment which might be used for internal repression and of equipment for monitoring telecommunications, are thereby extended until 13 April 2020, see EU Council Press release, Council Implementing Regulation 2019/560 and Council Decision 2019/562.
