EU lifts Eritrea sanctions

11.12.2018

On the 10th of December, the EU terminated its sanctions regime against Eritrea.

The termination comes as a consequence of the equivalent UN sanctions termination made by the UN Security Council last month.

The termination means that Council Regulation (EU) 667/2010 and Council Decision 2010/127/CFSP are repealed, c.f. Council Regulation (EU) 2018/1932 and Council Decision (CFSP) 2018/1944. The repealing acts have direct legal effect in all EU Member States.
