Recent developments have resulted in the full reinstatement of UN sanctions against Iran, targeting the country's nuclear and ballistic missiles programmes. This, in turn, has triggered the EU and UK to adopt even broader restrictions against certain sectors in Iran and against persons and individuals connected with Iran.

The corporate offence of 'failure to prevent fraud', established by the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (ECCTA), is now in force as of 1 September 2025. This marks a significant new phase for large organisations with UK connections, which should now take steps towards active mitigation of fraud risks.

In September 2025, the UK’s new corporate “failure to prevent fraud” offence introduced under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (the "Act"), will come into force. The Act is part of the UK government's ongoing and wider efforts to reform corporate criminal enforcement in the UK, including to strengthen corporate accountability.

Yesterday, on 8 October 2024, the EU Council established a new framework under the Russia sanctions regime in response to hybrid threats from Russia. Tomorrow, 10 October 2024, will see the entry into force of the UK's new framework for enforcement of trade, aircraft and shipping sanctions.

In this month's ESG alert we note that the EU has adopted the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the Net-Zero Industry Act and that the EU's Critical Raw Materials Act has entered into force. In Norway, the Ministry of Children and Families has commenced an evaluation of the Transparency Act one year after the first reporting deadline while various government authorities have issued public consultations relating to different areas of climate legislation.

Hanne arbeider med compliance og krisehåndtering. Hun jobbet tidligere i et stort, internasjonalt advokatfirma med hovedkontor i London med fokus på corporate compliance og granskinger. Hanne har norsk advokatbevilling og er kvalifisert Solicitor i England og Wales. 

Hanne har bred erfaring innenfor compliance, med særlig fokus på komplekse granskinger med internasjonal vinkling, foretaksstraff,  sanksjoner, antikorrupsjonsarbeid og menneskerettigheter og ansvarlig næringsliv. Hun er en allsidig advokat som jobber med en rekke saker for store bedriftskunder – fellesnevnerne er kompleksitet og internasjonalt fokus.

Hanne jobber med klienter på tvers av ulike sektorer, og har særlig erfaring med industrikonsern, selskaper innen telekom- og fornybar-sektorene og finansinstitusjoner. Hun har i tillegg erfaring fra stilling som Chief Compliance Officer i et norsk børsnotert selskap med fokus på fornybar energi. 

Hanne er rangert som en "Leading Associate" av Legal500, beskrevet som 'a key contact for cross-border investigations and complex international disputes'.

Hanne er også medlem av Advokatforeningens Utvalg for Advokatetikk.

Hanne har en Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) fra University of Essex og en Master of Laws (LLM) i International Business Law (Distinction) fra London School of Economics.
